Coaching is guiding people in their personal and professional development, so that they can optimally function as an authentic person. Coaching is a goal and result-oriented method to make a person’s current situation understandable.
Some examples of situations in which coaching may be an option:
- Finding another job or training course
- Time management
- You know for example that you are good at your present job, but feel that you are still not in the right place. You can do more, you can do better. Maybe you need another employer, or maybe you had better employ yourself
- You have recovered from a burn-out and know now that work is not the only thing that counts. Once you will be working fulltime again, you want to take better care of yourself, and in the meantime you want to think about all the other things you want to do with your life
Counselling is also called psychosocial therapy. During the therapeutic conversations you wil gain insight into your emotions or uncertainties and you will learn how to bring about positive changes. Counselling is personal attention by means of empathy, self-acceptation, openness, respect, lending a listening ear and trust. The goals of counselling are self-knowledge and self-reliance.
Some examples of situations in which counselling may be an option:
- You are faced with the same conflicts and irritations again and again, both in your job- and personal life
- Something painful has happened, and you cannot cope
- You know what you want, but you need confirmation or a push in the right direction
- You are not satisfied with how you and your partner relate and communicate
